The Roman Road leads east to the ’Heritage Coast’ with the Blyth and Alde Estuaries and the charming resorts of Southwold and Aldeburgh. To the west lies Bury St Edmunds with its cathedral, abbey gardens and lively market. Further west you will find racing at Newmarket and Cambridge. Wander south and enjoy the picturesque ’Wool Towns’, Lavenham is a gem and then over to the nostalgic views across ’Constable Country’.
The whole family will enjoy the farm attractions, the RSPB reserve at Minsmere, Colchester’s award winning zoo, boating at Thorpeness and the Saxon village at West Stow. Good cycling and walking.
