Manor Court Cottages are set in the peaceful village of Shipton Gorge just 11/2 miles from the stunning coastlines of World Heritage status. You can enjoy many walks along the footpaths down along the coastline and inland enjoying an AONB. The pretty village of Burton Bradstock is just 11/2 miles away, which is dotted with chocolate box thatched cottages and a lovely little beach. The market town of Bridport is 2 miles away, once famous for its rope-making industry, was Thomas Hardy’s ’Port Bredy’ and has lots of little shops, cafes and a selection of pubs, along with the twice weekly market where local products can be sampled as featured in the popular television programme ’River Cottage’. The picturesque harbours of West Bay, Lyme Regis and Weymouth are great places for fishing and watching the world go by. Weymouth also has a great family beach, the winner of a seaside award. Spread along the coast there are the other beach resorts of Bournemouth and Poole and the beautiful, Victorian Swanage, all with their Blue Flag beaches. Fossil hunters will enjoy the world famous beach at Charmouth. The family can have a great day at Monkey World, Bovington Tank museum, Weymouth Sea Life Centre, Abbotsbury Swannery and wildlife park at Cricket St Thomas. Shops and pubs 11/2 miles.
