Seaside town of Aldeburgh on the Suffolk Heritage Coast, 8 miles, where freshly caught fish can be purchased directly from fishermen along its delightful shingle beach. 4 miles from Benjamin Britten’s concert hall at Snape Maltings, 4 miles, with its range of interesting shops and galleries, farmers’ markets, and stunning views across the Alde estuary. Famous Thorpeness, 8 miles, with its mere and tea shops, and famous folly ’The House in the Clouds’. Suffolk’s beautiful countryside, rivers and coastline, quiet lanes and gently undulating terrain make it an ideal location for painting, photography, walking, birdwatching, cycling or boating. There are also several excellent golf courses nearby, plus opportunities for wine-tasting, horse-riding and clay-pigeon shooting.
