Enjoy the beach with its colourful beach huts, pier, high quality shops and restaurants or visit an Adnams pub from the local brewery. For the more active there are walks across the heathland common to the harbour and its famous Blackshore fish and chips, also available locally are golf, sailing and tennis. Take a trip across the harbour by the rowing boat ferry to Walberswick (for crabbing) on the Suffolk Heritage Coast and return via the footbridge. Other local attractions include Minsmere RSPB, Dunwich Heath (NT), Blythburgh church and the magnificent Snape Maltings concert hall. Further inland are the market towns of Halesworth with its art centre and Framlingham with its 12th century castle. Shops 300 yards, pub 200 yards.
