Brockwood Hall dates back to 1884 and sits proudly amidst glorious azaleas, rhododendrons and terraced lawns in 26 acres of protected woodland in the scenic Whicham Valley. There are 32 Norwegian lodges nestling in the trees around the grounds, many with views of the imposing hills of Black Combe and White Combe. Do not be surprised to catch sight of deer and badgers in the woods, with brightly coloured tame peacocks regular visitors to residents. The facilities on site include a family bar, restaurant and bistro, whilst on the leisure side there is a heated indoor pool with sauna and sun shower, outdoor children’s play area, lawns for games and barbecues and nature trails around the woods. The relaxed informality of this resort creates a superb atmosphere for an enjoyable holiday on the south western edge of the magnificent Lake District. Coniston Water is less than half an hour’s drive and within a 20 mile radius you will find the South Lakes Wildlife Park, Muncaster Castle, Aquarium of the Lakes and steam boat cruises on Windermere. Shops 4 miles, pub on site.
