A sweet 18th century cottage next door to the owner’s former farmhouse in the tranquil village of Silecroft, on the fringe of the National Park just over half a mile from wide beaches. Featuring original beams and exposed stone walls, with a private, enclosed garden, it makes a perfect holiday base for exploring the western lakes and fells. Overlooked by the impressive 600m fell of Black Combe from where magnificent views can be enjoyed, Coniston Water and Wast Water can be reached in under an hour. Shops 3 miles, pub 100 yards.
