Sandpipers is perfectly placed, just 2 minutes’ walk from the beach at Bembridge Ledge, the crab and lobster waterfront restaurant, and scenic coastal walks. Other footpaths lead to Forelands Beach, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), and Culver Down (NT), an area rich in wildlife and birdwatching. The quaint village of Bembridge has an array of small shops, a post office, fine eateries, NT windmill, Lifeboat Station and Bembridge Harbour, with sailing and fishing, and where the freshly caught crab and lobster can be enjoyed. Close by are golf, sailing, walking, cycling or riding. There are plenty of tourist attractions on this popular island. Visit the Flamingo Park, Carisbrooke Castle, Osborne House, various NT homes and gardens, Sandown Zoo, Quarr Abbey or steam railway which takes you on a magical tour of the east of the island. Shanklin Chine, Ventnor Botanical Gardens and Calbourne Water Mill are also popular days out, or further to the west of the island, the amazing rock formations of The Needles with amusement park.
