Park Lodge lies midway between the two Lakeland villages of Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere. Park Lodge is within easy strolling distance of villages, woods, lakeshores and countless trails, moorland and fells with all the amenities the Lake District National Park has to offer. Holiday activities include painting, riding, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, swimming, cycling, mountain biking, golfing and fell walking, or leisurely strolls along the world-renowned Lake Windermere, the marina and steamer piers at Bowness-on-Windermere. A visit to the Lake District is not complete without a cruise on Lake Windermere. The visitor attractions include; Beatrice Potter’s home and museum, Brockhole Visitor Centre, Lake Aquarium at Lakeside Newby Bridge. Countless National Trust historic houses abound in this fascinating area with Blackwell, Holker Hall in Cartmel, Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall to name but a few. The home of William Wordworth, the poet, inspired by the beautiful Lake District scenery to write his poetry, is at Dove Cottage and museum, both in the village of Grasmere. John Ruskin’s elegant home at Brantwood and museum are both by Lake Coniston.
