Parc Teifi is a delightful, small, pet-friendly holiday cottage complex. These cottages have been decorated and furnished to a very good standard and benefit from country views in this peaceful idyllic location. These magnificent cottages are the perfect retreat and touring base for all of Wales due to its central location, it is ideal for walkers, hikers, mountain bikers or for those who seek the tranquillity of the Welsh countryside. Pontrhydfendigaid is a very small village which is situated in Ceredigion in the central part of Wales and about 12½ miles to the south east of Aberystwyth, lying on the River Teifi. It is known for the ruins of the Cistercian Strata Florida Abbey, founded in 1164, where Dafydd ap Gwilym is said to be buried and Llewellyn the Great held a council. The cottages are all named after monks that lived at the famous monastery. The Beast of Bont is the name given to a big cat said to roam the area, blamed for a number of sheep deaths around Pontrhydfendigaid during the 1980s and 1990s. The village is home to an annual Eisteddfod and a Celtic music society is based at a village hotel. Pontrhydfendigaid was also the birth place and home of Caradog Jones, the first Welshman to reach the summit of Mount Everest. On-site there is a pet-friendly lounge bar with Sky TV and meals served in the restaurant. Shop 20 yards.
