Situated on a hilltop with panoramic views overlooking open countryside, Arran, Ben Lomond and Kintyre, these three holiday cottages have been renovated to a good standard and offer an ideal base from which to explore South West Scotland. With marked river, woodland and farm walks direct from the door, the properties are situated close to the Ayrshire Coastal Path, Scotland’s long distance walking route, 100 miles along one of the finest panoramic coastlines of the British Isles. The coastline is crowned with a superb backdrop of the ever-changing profile of Ailsa Craig and the mountains of Arran across the Firth of Clyde. Ayrshire offers a varying coastline with villages, beaches and rocky coves to explore. Local attractions include the Robert Burns Heritage Park and Museum, Newmilns Dry Ski Slope, Cowans Law Loch Fishing and Country Sports. Culzean Castle (owned by the National Trust) is spectacular and is Ayrshire’s most popular tourist attraction. The surrounding country park (extending over 420-acres) has a network of wooded trails passing along the beach. Craft shows, country dancing and walks spotting fungi are attractions hosted during the year. Day trips to Ireland can be taken from Stranraer and Troon, whilst a drive north leads to Ayr, a traditional seaside town. Glasgow and Edinburgh are easily reached for a day out.
