In an idyllic setting in Eskdale, this superb character holiday cottage has an enclosed garden with wonderful views of Harter Fell and the Langdale Pikes. Spacious rooms with beams, stone walls and an open fire provide cosy comfort throughout the year, whilst the village pub serving meals is conveniently close and walking from the doorstep makes the car redundant. To enjoy the splendour of nearby Hard Knott Pass in a leisurely fashion, the hairpin bends and steep tracks can be a bit of a challenge. The Western Lakes are stunningly beautiful and have a peaceful charm which is hard to resist. The coast with sandy beaches is only 10 miles away, as is Ravenglass with its miniature steam railway travelling the length of Eskdale with a hop on hop off facility. Historic Muncaster Castle which gave shelter to Henry VI in the 15th century has beautiful grounds and a famous Owl Sanctuary of rare breeds. Whitehaven 20 miles, Broughton in Furness 15 miles via the Duddon Valley.
