Viking Bay, hosting the main resort with its harbour pier, is great for cliff-top walks, while Louisa Bay is great for exploring rock pools. Broadstairs, on the Isle of Thanet, offers quaint little streets, where tiny flint houses and fishermen’s cottages nestle together, and unusual shops selling jewellery, clothes and delicious food are great for browsing around. Stroll along the prom, enjoy the pretty gardens, and discover the beautiful seven beaches, of which Joss Bay offers great surfing. Don’t miss the annual Dickens Festival and Folk Week. Join in the Thanet Coast Project and take a walk with the Roc Doc to uncover 80 million years of history on a seashore safari or take a boat trip out to the sandbanks and seal colonies.
