Description

Set on a working farm in the peaceful hamlet of Oxwick, Manor Farm is only 12 miles from Holkham, with its lovely expanse of sandy beach. The impressive farmhouse (Property ref AAE), boasting two spacious living rooms, is very well furnished and equipped and stands in its own half-acre of lawned gardens. The two pretty cottages (property refs CLX & CLY), adjoining one another, provide comfortable split-level accommodation, with each enjoying its own furnished garden area. Fakenham is 4 miles away, and offers a good choice of shops, inns and restaurants, as well as 10-pin bowling, a sports centre, golf course and racecourse.
On the coast, Wells-next-the-Sea (11 miles) is a bustling little fishing port, which boasts fine Georgian houses set round a green, and a busy quayside full of shrimp boats and colourful pleasure craft. A miniature railway or a pleasant walk along the embankment, takes visitors to the sandy beach (1¼ miles). There is a large boating lagoon for canoes and dinghies, as well as sailing, tennis, and riding locally. Close by are Walsingham Abbey grounds, containing the famous Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham and the remains of an Augustinian priory.
Less than an hour away lies Norwich, one of the finest of England’s provincial capitals. For the visitor, there is a wealth of history, fine architecture, excellent shopping, art, museums and leisure activities. The Norman castle dominates the town and now houses a museum, while the magnificent cathedral boasts some of Britain’s best Gothic architecture. There are cobbled streets, quiet alleys and courtyards, lively shopping centres, plenty of good inns and restaurants, as well as excellent art galleries and museums. There is an excellent pub/restaurant just a mile from the holiday properties. Shops 1 mile.
