With its golf course, tennis courts, and sea and river sailing, the town has something for everyone. Aldeburgh is noted for its close association with the composer Benjamin Britten and was the backdrop for many of his operas. Nearby in the village of Snape is the world famous Snape Maltings Concert Hall where the Aldeburgh Music and Arts Festival is held annually. Lovely strolls along the beach or beach path can be enjoyed as well as picturesque drives to other coastal towns and villages of interest including Southwold, Woodbridge, Dunwich, Orford, Thorpeness and Walberswick. 6 miles north of Heath House is the Minsmere RSPB reserve.
