On the ground floor there is a super sitting room with window seating giving great beach views, Sky TV and feature fireplace, a stylish dining hall with seating for 14 and double doors opening into the spacious kitchen and morning room. As visitors enter Strafford House they will experience the history associated with it; there have been many famous visitors over the years including Thomas Hardy, J M Barrie, H G Wells, William Holman Hunt and W B Yeats. All the character and charm has been retained in this remarkable house but now it has the added benefit of Sky TV in four rooms, modern bathrooms and a well-equipped kitchen. Just a minute’s walk leads to Aldeburgh’s high street with its mix of shops and high quality restaurants. Aldeburgh is well known for its association with the composer Benjamin Britten; his inspired annual Arts and Music Festival is held at the nearby Snape Maltings, attracting many well known names and visitors. A convenient town for exploring the Suffolk Heritage Coast, just a short drive away are the towns of Southwold and Woodbridge as are the villages of Thorpeness and Walberswick. The RSPB reserve at Minsmere is easily accessible and a 15-mile journey south leads to the Sutton Hoo Anglo Saxon Burial Ground, one of Britain’s most important and atmospheric archaeological sites.
