This attractive detached thatched holiday home dating back to the Tudor period has been tastefully renovated and is full of charm and character, with many of the original features, such as the large inglenook fireplaces, the wonderful beamed rooms with an Aga in the kitchen. Situated in the interesting village of Banham, close to the village green and opposite the Church of St Mary's the virgin. One of the key attractions is Banham Zoo which is close by, and has up to 1,000 animals, ranging from big cats to birds of prey. The zoo has 35 acres of beautiful parkland and gardens. Bressingham Steam Museum and Gardens (6 miles) offers 5 miles of steam railway rides amongst 12 acres of glorious gardens. Thetford Forest (12 miles) is ideal for walking, cycling and picnics with its Pedlars Way footpath and national cycle route. The addition of the marked forest walks, wildlife hides and recreational facilities has resulted in a pleasant venue for visitors, with the High Lodge Forest Centre being the place where trail maps can be obtained and bicycles hired. The North Norfolk coastline with sandy beaches, nature and bird reserves within touring distance, the Norfolk Broads can be reached within an hour. Alternatively the fine city of Norwich is only 20 miles away with is cathedrals, theatres, museums, and array of shops and cafes. The National Trust property, north-west of the forest is Oxburgh Hall, a fine example of Tudor manor house complete with a moat. Pub 1 mile.
