The large porch entrance opens into a large hall with sweeping stairs rising to a minstrels’ gallery-style landing with the bedrooms leading off. The spacious living room is a great family room, whilst the smaller sitting room is ideal for relaxing in. Less than a 5-minute walk away is the open moorland of Dartmoor, with its rugged tors, windswept landscape and, of course, its famous ponies which roam freely. A place of stark contrast, it is popular with walkers, photographers and tourists alike. Another short walk away from the house is Burrator with its large reservoir, formed by flooding the Meavy Valley at the end of the 19th century. A little further is Princetown, a small village in the heart of the moor, with the highest point on the moor dominated by Dartmoor Prison. Princetown is also well known for the writings of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and the novel The Hound of the Baskervilles. Yelverton golf club is 1 mile. Shops, pub ¼ mile.
