Description

Situated in the Central Wolds rich in the limestone that provides so much material for buildings and dry-stone walls alike, this lovely 300-year-old detached barn has been carefully renovated to provide a spacious and highly desirable holiday property. Located in a small secluded valley that has been farmed by the same family for generations, the property derives its name from a popular first name within the family over that time, including the present one. With an air of timelessness and the unspoilt nature of this small Cotswold hamlet, it is hard to believe that it lies just 6 miles from the centre of Cheltenham. The town boasts a state-of-the-art cinema complex, two renowned theatres, public gardens, a famous race course - site of the Gold Cup in March - and a wealth of restaurants, specialist food shops and excellent shopping in general. Cheltenham is a superb base from which to explore the full breadth of the Cotswold countryside, its villages, historic houses and internationally famous gardens such as Kiftsgate and Hidcote Manor. With excellent walking opportunities, three excellent golf courses within a few minutes’ drive and the chance to visit the many picturesque villages of the locality, including Bourton-on-the-Water, Lower Slaughter, Stow-on-the-Wold, and the many old inns that abound within an easy drive, this is an ideal spot for a country holiday with a difference. Shops 2 miles.
