In a beautiful setting on the banks of the Tyne, nestling in a tree-lined valley, this detached, stone-built former mill-house is a haven of peace and solitude. The ancient mill wheel has not turned for decades, but still evokes a picture of the once working mill in this unspoilt Northumbrian village. This historic and beautiful area has much to offer the visitor, being very close to Hadrian’s Wall and the Kielder Forest. Chester’s Fort is just a mile away and the settlement of Vindolanda, 12 miles. Also within easy driving distance is Newcastle, with its choice of excellent shops and family entertainments.
