Description

This spacious detached property is located in a quiet area with wonderful sea views out over Cardigan Bay and Criccieth Castle from most of the downstairs rooms and all of the four bedrooms. Ideal for families or groups, this delightful holiday property has two living rooms, each with sea views and open fire as well as a sunny garden and patio area with direct access to the beach (only 6 minutes’ walk via public railway crossing). The village of Criccieth (within walking distance) offers a lovely selection of shops, restaurant and bars, and golf, fishing, horse riding and walking are all available locally. Criccieth Castle dominates the coastline with what remains of its twin towered gatehouse, and offers great views over the sea to Harlech.
Nearby Porthmadog offers a fascinating waterfront with the refurbished Maritime Museum, and across the harbour lies the famous Ffestiniog Railway which travels through stunning scenery that ranges from the broad expanse of the Glaslyn Estuary to the deep green vales of the Vale of Ffestiniog and the slate-grey of Blaenau Ffestiniog. The other main lure of the town is the unique Italianate village of Portmeirion - it is probably best known as ‘The Village’ in the 1960’s British cult TV series The Prisoner.
The enchanting village of Beddgelert nestles in some majestic mountain scenery, and is the starting point for some wonderful walks, including the famous walk to ‘Gelert’s Grave’ - the burial place of Prince Llywelyn’s faithful hound. Within easy driving distance is Snowdon (the highest mountain in Wales), Caernarfon, with its walled town and castle (a World Heritage Site), and the attractive resort of Abersoch - popular for its watersports and annual Wakestock Festival, National Trust headlands and an excellent variety of sandy beaches. Shops ½ mile.
