This wonderful holiday cottage sits in splendid isolation, commanding marvellous elevated views over the estate - perfect for romantic getaways. Totally refurbished throughout, it provides very comfortable and spacious accommodation for couples. Together with three other charming cottages (SGD, UYN and SCP), Jockey Milnes Croft is located within the extensive grounds of Aswanley Estate, in unspoilt surroundings on the upper reaches of Glen Deveron. All are peacefully set in secluded locations, enjoying uninterrupted views across beautiful scenery and each has its own private garden. Visitors are welcome to explore the Estate grounds, where there is an abundance of wildlife. Fishing and shooting can be arranged, and safe inlets on the river offer fun paddling for children, with deeper pools for swimming.
The famous Whisky Trail is easily accessible from the properities and many of the distilleries offer guided tours and the chance to sample the local malts.
A choice of coves, sandy beaches and attractive fishing villages can be reached within a 35-minute drive of Aswanley. Golf, swimming and tennis available at Huntly (7 miles). For a change of scene, Aberdeen with its many shops, restaurants, theatres and museums is well worth a visit. Castles, museums and picturesque towns are all within easy driving distance. Falconry centre 3 miles. Salmon fishing (3-mile beat of the Deveron) by prior arrangement. Riding locally.
