Description

Tullicro is a small group of traditional stone buildings on the south facing hills overlooking the beautiful wooded Tay Valley, offering Scottish crofting in real comfort. In a wonderful elevated setting, this delightful holiday property has been sympathetically constructed using traditional materials combined with modern conveniences offering a very good standard of comfort. The charming town of Aberfeldy is just 2½ miles away with a good selection of interesting shops and eating places. It also boasts the beautifully restored Aberfeldy water mill housing a fine art and book shop. Near the cottages, the 16th century Castle Menzies welcomes visitors between March and October, while the adjacent House of Menzies specialises in contemporary art and fine wines. For the adventurous, the area is unsurpassed in Scotland, with sailing, canoeing, rafting, water skiing and windsurfing all available, as well as water canyoning and hydro boarding or gorge walking! The whole area combines scenery and history to breathtaking effect – the beautiful village of Fortingall with its thatched cottages, has the Fortingall Yew – a tree between 3,000 and 5,000 years old, believed to be the oldest of any species in Europe. It is also claimed to be the birthplace of Pontius Pilate. Glen Lyon is well worth a visit, with its magical atmosphere, considered by many to be the loveliest in Scotland. Excellent walking, golf and many other activities can be enjoyed in this wonderful region either on foot or by car. Shops 3 miles.
