For keen golfers, Glencruitten Golf Course can be found 200 yards away, where day passes can be purchased. Standing detached, Firinn boasts an enclosed garden with raised decked area, from where a gentle stream trickles just beyond with flora and fauna abounding on the hill close by.
The busy and popular town of Oban lies a mere 10 minutes’ walk away and has a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, whilst the Oban Distillery and McCaigs Tower - locally called the crown of Oban, overlooks the bay, and both make for interesting and enjoyable places to visit. A sea safari makes for an alternative trip to catch a glimpse of dolphins, whales and eagles as well as the famous whirlpool of Corryveckan. For walking enthusiasts, there are numerous forest walks to be found, north and south of Oban and the splendour of the stunning countryside, endless sea, wildlife and the ever-changing landscapes tempt visitors back to the area time and time again.
Ferry trips can be taken from the port of Oban to the nearby islands of Mull - the second largest of the Inner Hebrides, Iona and Islay, Islay has been made famous for one thing - single malt whisky. All six of the islands distilleries offer guided tours and all end with a complimentary tasting of the renowned tipple. Other activities that can be found locally include go-karting, riding, sailing, fishing and sea fishing. Shops 800 yards.
