Description

Nestling against the side of a small heather-clad hillock, this lovely detached house enjoys wonderful views across open countryside and towards the crystal clear waters of Loch Pooltiel, Dunvegan Head, and on a clear day, the Outer Hebrides. Skye is the ramblers’ paradise, from the Cuillin Mountains and MacLeods Tables to coastal walks. The walk to Neist Point Lighthouse is a popular place for dolphin and whale-watching as well as a great spot for mackerel fishing. Mountain biking, climbing, horse riding, golf and kayaking are all available on Skye.
Take a visit to Dunvegan Castle (the oldest inhabited castle in Scotland), the Glendale Toy Museum - a fascinating private collection of toys. Day trips can be taken to the Talisker Distillery set on the shores of Loch Harport or the Trotternish Peninsula which offers some unusual rock formations. The Blackhouse Museum at Duntulm shows how islanders lived in thatched stone houses, the Aros Centre in Portree shows how the sea eagle has been reintroduced and Skye Serpentarium at Broadford makes for an interesting afternoon. In mid-July the two week long Skye and Lochalsh Festival is held. No visit to the Isle of Skye is complete without a trip on the Bella Jane from Elgol to Scotland’s most isolated and breathtaking Loch Coruisk, set in the heart of the beautiful Cuillin Mountains. The island, renowned for its excellent seafood, boasts some wonderful restaurants - the world famous ‘Three Chimneys’ has held 3 Red Rosettes for 9 years and The Kinloch Lodge Hotel has been awarded Skye’s first Michelin star. Waterfall View makes the ideal holiday retreat for relaxing, unwinding and watching the ever changing vistas. There really is something for everyone. Shop 2 miles, pubs 2-3 miles.
