Description

Situated in the busy rural market town of Newton Stewart, in the heart of Galloway amidst some of the finest scenery in southern Scotland, this traditional, detached stone built house stands in extensive gardens and provides an ideal holiday base from which to explore the attractions of Galloway and South West Scotland. The town itself offers a good range of shops, pubs and eateries, cinema and swimming pool. There are also good tennis courts and an 18-hole golf course, with a wealth of golf courses nearby.
With the Galloway Forest Park close by, the largest in Britain with 300 square miles of forest, moorlands, lochs and peaks, and many sandy beaches, rocky coves and picturesque villages, the area provides ample opportunity to relax in the wealth of scenic and historic attractions, monuments and archaeological sites of interest.
With its famously mild climate and the balmy influence of the Gulf Stream, Galloway is home to some of the most beautiful and exotic gardens. Galloway remains largely unknown as a holiday destination and consequently does not suffer from overcrowding so visitors can enjoy the much slower pace of life. For the more active visitor, world class mountain biking at Kirroughtree 7 Stanes and walking and hillwalking to suit all levels. Sea, river and loch fishing, horse riding and sailing all nearby. A wide variety of local shops provide the visitor and local people alike a friendly, personal atmosphere and there is a good choice of venues for wining and dining. Shop and pub 500 yards.
