Description

Set in the heart of Port Isaac, this converted 18th-century net loft, set above a shop, has been fully and lovingly restored by the owner, interior designer and television presenter Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen. There are sea and harbour views from the kitchen, living room, bathroom and one of the three bedrooms. The holiday property has been featured in many interior design magazines and has a comfortable, stylish and unique charm. Many of the soft furnishings and fittings are from Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen’s design ranges. It is situated at the very heart of this immensely popular lively village, featured in the TV drama Doc Martin, and is a stone’s throw from the beach, shops and restaurants. Port Isaac lies on the famous South West Coastal Path and has cliff walks with stunning views across the Atlantic. The sandy surfing beaches (ideal for family holidays) of Polzeath to the west and Trebarwith Strand to the east are within ¼ mile. Also close by are many of the tourist attractions that the north coast has to offer including Boscastle, Tintagel, the mythical home of King Arthur and Padstow, with its array of shops, pubs and restaurants, including Rick Stein’s famous fish restaurant. From here the ferry can be taken across to Rock with its shops, restaurants and bars. In the centre of Padstow bikes can be hired to cycle the Camel Trail (a disused railway line along the Camel Estuary where an abundance of birdlife can be seen), to Wadebridge and then all the way to Bodmin. Also worth a visit is Bodmin Moor which is a short drive away. This is unspoilt moorland at its best, with streams, tors, historic earth works and moorland hamlets, as well as the renowned Jamaica Inn, the setting for the Daphne Du Maurier novel. Shops and pub 10 yards.
