Centrally located and set along a main road, it is ideally placed for any type of holiday, particularly as a touring base and within walking distance of the village. Mountbellow has a weekly market presided over by the memorial statue of Bobbyjo, winner of the Grand National. The festival city of Galway, ‘Gateway to Connemara’, is about 1 hour. Water sports and boat hire are available at Athlone, 30 minutes away. Locally there is an 18-hole golf course and woodland walking. Lough Corrib and Lough Mask are an easy drive. Fishing is available locally on the River Suck and other rivers. Shops, restaurants and pubs with music 0.25 miles.
