Historical base
Monkstadt became the seat of the Clan Macdonald in 1730 when they abandoned Duntulm Castle.
Nearby are servants’ houses and a steading which includes a granary stable, cartshed and a mill with horse walk. The mainhouse of Monkstadt is now a ruin however the steading has been renovated and the stables and Granary have been sympathetically converted into first class holiday accommodation.
This single storey property is ideal for exploring the mysterious Isle of Skye. Flora Macdonalds monument and ruined Duntulm Castle are nearby. The Quirang and Old Man of Stor encourage walkers and climbers whilst the beauty, wildlife and various outdoor pursuits appeal to all groups.
