There are 2 friendly pubs in the village both serving food and the Peak Rail and Redhouse Horse and Carriage Museum are within 0.5 miles.
Bakewell is 6 miles with Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall an easy drive. There are water sports at Carsington Water, pot holing at Castleton, Go Ape adventure course and Alton Towers within easy reach.
