Busy Oban, the gateway to the Isles is a scenic one hours drive north, with plenty of shops and restaurants. Catch a ferry from the village of Tarbert, for a crossing to Portavadie on the Cowl Peninsula. From West Loch Tarbet catch a ferry for Islay, and in summer the ferry to Arran leaves from Claonaig. Inveraray Castle, historic Kilmartin Glen and the famous Crinan Canal are all within a short drive, as is the Mull of Kintyre and Campbelltown.

Golf, fishing, horseriding, bike hire and several famous gardens can be found close by or alternatively just relax and enjoy the peacefulness of your surroundings.
