Alongside beach with sea views
This former boathouse built in the 1900s has been converted into two cosy holiday cottages, each providing a good standard of accommodation, which boast an attractive galleried bedroom and patio doors. The properties are situated in a splendid position beside a quiet shingle beach with superb views across the sea, together with a slipway for those wishing to launch their own boats.
Sandy bays, high cliffs and sheltered creeks fringe England’s second smallest county. The Victorians built many forts along the coast to guard against invasion from the Continent and the attractions of Fort Victoria are within easy reach. The quaint harbourside town of Yarmouth (0.75 miles) is reached by a pleasant stroll along the coastal path. This part of the island has excellent scenic walks along miles of heritage coastline including Tennyson Down and Headon Warren, as well as the amazing rock formations of The Needles.
Freshwater is a short drive away with golf course, leisure centre and riding, as well as the coloured sands at Alum Bay. There are many other island attractions to visit, all within easy reach, including Carisbrooke Castle, Calbourne Mill, museums, wildlife centres and adventure parks, plus NT homes and gardens including beautiful Osborne House, Queen Victoria’s former residence.
Shop and pub 0.75 miles, restaurant 25 yards (summer season).
