The historic harbour at Whitehaven (11 miles) hosts the Tall Ships Race every two years and has a superb marina plus museums, shops and restaurants.

Keen walkers will adore the fantastic footpaths throughout this area and the stunning views to be had from the mountains, including ‘Britain’s Best View’ at Wastwater, 6 miles away.
