Seaton with its mile long beach is 2 miles away with the famous Seaton and District Electric Tramway, golf, fishing, and superb cliff walks. The seaside resort of Lyme Regis, with its Cobb, offers good sailing and water-skiing. Other popular coastal resorts include Sidmouth, Beer and Exmouth. Visit the Donkey Sanctuary, Broadwindsor Craft Centre, Crealy Adventure Playground at Exeter or Bicton Park Gardens at Budleigh.

The rich and rolling farmlands nearby are dotted with ancient market towns and mellow stone villages. The Blackdown Hills where gorse-clad hilltops descend through to secluded wooded valleys. Walkers will delight in reaching the Duke of Wellington’s monument.
